Item #5857
Guild G-212NT Model 12 String Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1977), made in Westerly, RI, serial # 156576, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
The G-212 is Guild's mahogany Dreadnought-style 12-string, introduced in 1974 to supplement the older Jumbo-body designs. This one dates to 1977, and remains in exceptional condition. The "NT" stands for "natural top" as the model was also offered in sunburst-this particular guitar's clear-finished spruce top has an attractive tight even grain. The 3-piece laminated mahogany neck is substantial but has an even C profile and is very comfortable to play. This is a superb guitar and one of the nicer '70's Guild 12's we have ever seen.
Overall length is 43 1/4 in. (109.9 cm.), 15 7/8 in. (40.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.). Spectacular original condition overall; untouched except for an added strap button by the bass side of the heel. Excellent action, plays and sounds extremely well; a very fine example of a 70's Guild 12 string-then and now the industry standard. Excellent + Condition.
