Item #6814
Guild D-40 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1972), made in Westerly, RI, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
Overall length is 41 3/4 in. (106 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). This super clean early Westerly-made D-40 came direct from the original owner, and is really about as nice as these get! The guitar shows only very minor play and handling wear, no damage or notable repair, good neck angle-just a truly top-notch example. Not much played for 40+ years, this guitar is not as heavily built as later '70's examples and has a nice ringing tone that will only get better with more playing time. A time-capsule package includes the original hard case with the warranty tag, care instructions and even the receipt from early 1973! Excellent + Condition.
