Item #6832
Guild D-40 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Hoboken, NJ, serial # AJ-738, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.
Overall length is 41 3/4 in. (106 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). An excellent player, some wear and repair overall but a good sounding guitar. The bridge is a very fine reproduction of the original and there is some visible touch-up around it; nothing else is changed. There is one old repaired crack off the front edge of the pickguard that is solid but visible, no other cracks evident. One big scrape to the side on the upper bass bout. Overall a very nice friendly if somewhat worn-in guitar, quite a pleasure to play. Overall Excellent - Condition.
