Item #8089

Gretsch Model 6150 Compact Model Tube Amplifier (1965), made in Chicago, serial # 1-77203, textured tolex finish.

This little Valco-made gem is the smallest amp Gretsch offered, but one of the best-sounding! The substantially built case is covered in the typical Gretsch case textured Tolex, but the amp is all Valco inside. This "Compact" amp snarls at first and then rolls into sweet crunch when the single volume control is turned up. This is as simple as amps get: one knob, three tubes, and the pure vintage sound of low-wattage tube goodness.

Height is 11 1/2 in. (29.2 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) width, and 7 1/2 in. (19 cm.) deep.

Super nice original condition overall, with just some scuffing here and there and one tear to the grillcloth just under the Gretsch logo. Set up with a new 3-prong cord, but otherwise all original, including the tubes and Jensen speaker. As nice an example as we have had of this 1960s Brooklyn/Chicago collaboration. Excellent Condition.
