Item #3500
Gibson Ultratone Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1954), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, blue lacquer finish, maple body, original brown hard shell case.
One of Gibson's most whimsical 50's populuxe creations, the multitone blue Ultratone Steel Guitar features an oblong asymmetrical body with backpainted lucite accents. A single P-90 coil under the decorative cover with an unusual 3-knob tone circut provides the tonal muscle to back up the fabulous looks!
Overall length is 22 1/4 in. (56.5 cm.), 8 1/4 in. (21 cm.) width, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/4 in. (57 mm.).
Very fine overall with some very minor finish dings and wear. Tuner buttons show considerable shrinkage, otherwise all original and complete. Includes a very nice original rectangular brown case. Excellent Condition.
