Gibson Uke-1 Model Soprano Ukulele (late 1920's), made in Kalamazoo, natural lacquer finish, mahogany top, back and sides, brown chipboard case.
A nice example of Gibson's simplest Ukulele from the 1920's. Simple natural finish brown mahogany throughout, rosewood fingerboard, ebony nut and saddle. Single half-herringbone soundhole ring, pointed-end headstock with silver paint script "The Gibson" logo. Black-button Grover friction tuners.
Plays and sounds fine. Comes in a 1940's era chipboard case with an original GEIB label plaque on the neckrest.
Overall length is 20.75 in. (52.7 cm.), 6.375 in. (16.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2.375 in. (6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13.75 in. (349 mm.).
All original with no cracks or repairs. Average light playing wear with numerous small dings and scratches. Case is excellent with minor wear. Excellent Condition.
