Item #6526

Gibson UKE-1 Model Soprano Ukulele (1950's), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, natural mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.

Overall length is 20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm.), 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 13 1/2 in. (343 mm.). Width of nut is 1 7/16 in. (36 mm.). Spectacular, all original condition; hardly any signs of use, finish still shiny, no wood cracks or repair. There is some very light handling and case wear, mostly to the top edge of the headstock. Other than that this one is still waiting for the sunrise! A lovely instrument to play-this particular example is built more lightly and sounds better than many 1950's Gibson ukes. Complete in a time-capsule original SSC with yellowed period lyrics, clippings and a method book. A really neat package. Excellent + Condition.
