Item #6089
Gibson TG-00 Model Tenor Guitar, c. 1935, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
The TG-00 is the tenor version of the L-00, and although these were Gibson's least expensive tenor guitar they have a big and powerful sound. Specs are the same as for the six-string version , with the obvious exception of the narrow four-string neck with tabbed Grover banjo tuners. These are great sounding tenor guitars and quite a bargain compared to their six-string cousins!
Overall length is 37 7/8 in. (96.2 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Some playwear and crazing. Some finish wear in the upper bass bout where it appears as if a sticker may have been affixed at some point in time. A very bug sounding tenor with a lot more low end than most, one of the nicest sounding we have heard. Complete with a modern custom HSC. Excellent Condition.
