Item #2874

Gibson TG-00 Model Flat Top Tenor Guitar, c. 1935, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top, black tolex original chipboard case.

The TG-00 is the tenor version of the L-00, and although these were Gibson's least expensive tenor guitar, they have a big and powerful sound.

Specs are the same as for the 6-string version, with the obvious exception of the narrow 4-string neck with tabbed Grover banjo tuners.

We are happy (if a bit bemused) to have two of these rare tenors in stock (see our stock #2841) and can't help wondering if there is some sort of duet act out there looking for just this set.

This one is quite early, from around 1934-5 with a very small sunburst centered around the bridge, and includes a beautiful original soft shell case.

These are great-sounding tenor guitars and quite a bargain compared to their 6-string cousins!

Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.).

Well-preserved; finish is in excellent condition overall with only some minor pick scratching. There are two repaired top cracks on the lower bottom bout and one in the back in the same area...otherwise, the guitar is excellent.

Original case also excellent. Excellent Condition.
