Gibson Style A Model Carved Top Mandolin (1916), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 34047, natural varnish finish, birch back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Overall length is 25 3/4 in. (65.4 cm.), 10 1/4 in. (26 cm.) width, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). This mandolin remains relatively clean overall, and is all original and complete including the pickguard and clamp that have often gone missing by now. There is some minor wear, mostly to the back of the neck and the top near the tailpiece, but no excessive play wear evident. A couple of seam repairs on the back/side edges, and a small crack off the center seam on the lower back cleanly sealed. A good player with a sweet but ringing tone, includes a nice OHSC. Excellent - Condition.
