Gibson Style A- Model Carved Top Mandolin (1912), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 15093, natural varnish finish, birch back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard.

Overall length is 26 in. (66 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) width, and 1 13/16 in. (4.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). This is a very well-played but good sounding old Gibson, now past its 100th birthday and ready for another century. There is an ancient headstock repair through the tuners on the treble side, solid but visible with pegs set in through the side. There are a number of old seam re-seals but no other cracks. There is a lot of finish wear overall (especially to the neck) but the top is still relatively clean. The tailpiece and tuners are original; the original solid bridge has been replaced with a more modern adjustable style, and the pickguard is long gone. The mandolin has been refretted and fitted with a new nut and is a good solid player, worn in well with a nicely sweet sound. Overall Very Good Condition.
