Gibson SJ Southern Jumbo Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1948, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany, hard shell case.
 
Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 16 1/4 in. (41.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Fairly well-played, no major alterations except a Martin bridge installed sometime back. Wear, dings and checking overall. One long back crack off the center seam, a few small top cracks by the pickguard and bass side waist. Tuners nicely restored to original, original bridgeplate, excellent sound and playability. A cool old SJ with an unusual history behind it! Overall Very Good + Condition.
