Item #3676

Gibson SG Junior Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1964), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, cherry lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original brown alligator soft shell case.

From soon after the end of the "Les Paul" attribution for Gibson's solid-body series comes this gleaming cherry Junior, built a year or so after they became simply "SG's". Nice C-profile neck, one very hot P-90, and a nickel stoptail (never a vibrato on this one -- unusual for 1964!) make for a very lively tone package indeed. A great year for these guitars; they may have built a lot, but not too many have survived this nicely!

Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 13 1/8 in. (33.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

Appears all original; light play wear (most noticeable on back of neck) and checking. No neck cracks or separations. A very solid old stoptail Junior. Excellent Condition.
