Item #2845
Gibson Nick Lucas Special Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1927, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, black tolex original hard shell case.
An extremely early example of the Gibson Nick Lucas Special, Gibson's first deluxe flat top guitar. This is a very rare guitar, and an interesting and important piece of Gibson history.
Factory-equipped with Grover banjo tuners, this would be one of the earliest Lucas guitars yet seen.
Includes the very hard-to-find original hard case, two pieces of contemporary sheet music featuring Lucas himself pictured with a similar guitar, and an original Nick Lucas autograph.
Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 13 3/4 in. (34.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.).
Well-played with quite a few repairs, but in good playing condition. Very Good + Condition.
