Item #6248
Gibson Melody Maker D Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1961), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 26008, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard.
Overall length is 38 3/4 in. (98.4 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A nice original example of an early double-cutaway Melody Maker D, some wear overall but no major changes or repairs. There are some dings and scrapes to the finish and pickguard, but no major areas of wear. All original hardware except the wiring has been reworked a bit long ago; the pickups and pots are original (pots date to mid-1961) but some solder joints are a bit sloppy and the jack is likely from another 1960's period Gibson; everything still works as intended! A very nice player, very lightweight as all MM's tend to be, a good gigging early 1960's Gibson solidbody. Very Good + Condition.
