Item #3161
Gibson MB-1 Model Mandolin Banjo (1927), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, black lacquer finish, maple rim, original black hard shell case.
One of Gibson's simpler banjos, the MB-1 is a simple openback banjo-mandolin without the Mastertone features but still a high-quality instrument. Equipped with bracket shoes and a single co-ordinator rod, this is a good sounding and playing 1920's Gibson at a modest price.
Overall length is 24 in. (61 cm.), 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.) diameter head, and 2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) deep. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.).
Extremely fine original condition, very little evidence of use; newer skin head and bridge otherwise all original and complete with original hard case. Excellent + Condition.
