Item #2809
Gibson LG-2 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1955), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, black tolex hard shell case.
A good-sounding and nicely original 1950's LG-2, Gibson's "Bread and butter" small-body flat top. This 1955 example still has the early-50's features: small tortoise pickguard, dark sunburst finish, small bridge, and "no-logo" Kluson Deluxe tuners.
A very attractive LG with the classic 50's Gibson tone.
Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
Very well-preserved overall, with average light playwear. Two repaired back cracks with small areas of overspray. Otherwise, no repairs and all original. Excellent Condition.
