Gibson LG-2 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1951), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 8767-14 (FON), sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, Mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood bridge and fingerboard, original brown chipboard case.
Overall length is 39 1/8 in. (99.4 cm.), 14 3/16 in. (36 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A nice original example of an early-1950's LG-2, showing some fairly light play wear but no major Damage or repair work. The original bridge has been lowered and reattached, which is a typical maintenance job of these earlier Gibson flat-tops with the narrow bridge construction. There are small dings to the finish overall and some small areas of pickwear to the top but the finish still has a nice shine to it. The frets have recently been leveled and playability is excellent, another very fine sounding old LG with a better-preserved than many original chipboard case. Excellent Condition.
