Item #5079
Gibson LG-2 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1950), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahoghany back, sides and neck; spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). This guitar has been well played, with a lot of wear to the finish overall but still a very solid instrument. There are several old repaired top cracks, the bridge was cut down long ago and there is a lot of finish wear to the back of the neck. The tuners have been replaced several times; currently they are correct style Kluson Deluxe reissues. No overspray, there is some heavy pickwear near the soundhole but the finish is not bad overall. A great sounding guitar, with a surprisingly punchthis is a fine gigging 60+ year old Gibson flattop ready for more action. Very Good + Condition.
