Item #3051

Gibson LG-2 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1947, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark stained back and sides finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top, soft shell case.

An especially nice just-postwar LG-2, with the gold script Gibson logo but no banner on the headstock. A powerful, versatile sounding guitar and a great instrument for both flat- and fingerpicking.

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/16 in. (11.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.).

Extremely clean and well-preserved overall. Finish is still shiny with light typical Gibson checking. Added strap button to the heel and replacement metal endpin; otherwise all original, including tuners and buttons.

Some noticeable capo wear to the back of the neck and a very small area of playwear right next to the bridge and soundhole edge. Otherwise, few signs of use.

Plays and sounds excellent. Excellent + Condition.
