Item #6559
Gibson LG-1 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1960), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # R2766, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original brown canvas soft shell case.
Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Very nice original condition overall; some signs of use (small dings and chips to the finish) but still a very clean-looking guitar. There is one cleanly repaired crack along the treble side of the fingerboard and some finish scraping on the treble side waist; these are the only notable defects. The plating on the strip tuners shows some old corrosion. This is a very good playing and sounding LG-1 with the flatter profile neck typical of 1960 Gibsons, a nice find in a mid-priced vintage flat top. Excellent - Condition.
