Item #5124
Gibson LG-1 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1956), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # V-5020-16 (FON), sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown alligator chipboard case.
Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A SUPER clean guitar overall; really looks like it has seen virtually no play since new! Tuners replaced with exact repros and one tight grain crack off the back center seam, otherwise this is as close to near mint as we ever see on 1950's instruments. Excellent action, very good sound-as nice as an LG-1 gets! Includes the original chip case and hang tag. Conservatively Excellent + Condition.
