Item #5884
Gibson LG-0 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 438136, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original brown chipboard case.
The all-mahogany LG-0 was Gibson's student guitar throughout the '60's, designed so even the beginning student could learn on a quality instrument. Priced at $135.00 in the mid-late '60's, the LG-0 is absolutely a no-frills guitar, but delivers good playability and a smooth sound, then and now.
Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Very clean overall and all original; appears to have had an old bridge re-glue but no other repairs or alterations. Includes the original chip case, an old period strap and a set of 1966 Gibson strings still in the box. A neat package from the mid-'60's. Excellent + Condition.
