Item #6750

Gibson LG-0 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1958), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # T-5995-25, natural mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, black chipboard case.

Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/16 in. (11.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). This LG has had something of a hard life, but actually sounds and plays quite well. Someone did the "Clarence White" modification and enlarged the soundhole long ago; it's a bit roughly done but solid (they got a bit of glue on the pickguard as well). There is a lot of wear overall, dings, chips and scrapes especially to the back of the neck. The back center seam has been resealed and there is one long repaired top crack. Original Waverly strip tuners, newer truss rod cover. While this sounds like an LG only a mother could love, this first year little mahogany Gibson has maintained a certain well-worn dignity and a very nice midrangey tone, with more voulme than many. A cool survivor, "Blues Approved" and ragged, as they say, but right. Very Good + Condition.
