Item #4894
Gibson Les Paul Standard Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1969), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, tobacco sunburst (re-finished) finish, mahogany body with maple cap; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 7/16 in. (100.2 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 15/16 in. (4.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Very heavily modified, but still a great playing and sounding guitar. The headstock appears to be of mid-70's vintage; spliced expertly to the original 1-piece neck. The entire guitar was refinished from gold top to a tobacco sunburst long ago, and well played since then. There are two extra switch holes in the control cavity, now filled with tortoise plastic caps. The pickups are original, as is most of the wiring rig (pots dated from the end of '68). Tuners are changed to Schallers. A really gutsy sounding Les Paul that was well-loved and much gigged! Overall Very Good Condition.
