Item #8920

Gibson Les Paul Pro Deluxe Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1977), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, black lacquer finish, mahogany body with maple cap, laminated maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original molded black plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 15/16 in. (4.9 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

Overall this is a nice example of this 1970s Les Paul variation, the "Pro Deluxe" with a black finish overall and P-90 pickups instead of the mini-humbuckers carried by the regular Deluxe model at the time. The guitar remains all original with Gibson-branded Schaller tuners and the decal serial number used only in this period. Overall it shows some typical play wear including dings, dents, and scuffs to the finish, with a small chip of lacquer gone from the top rear of the headstock. There are no modifications or repairs except the pickguard is hand etched "To Bob from Les Paul" fairly lightly. At 10.3 lbs not the heaviest "70s" we have had, and a good player with the chunkier P-90 sound. Excellent - Condition.
