Gibson Les Paul Custom Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1975), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, black lacquer finish, laminated maple and mahogany body, laminated maple neck with ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
This mid-1970's ebony Les Paul Custom is an unusual mix of features and upon close examination appears to have had a factory re-neck within a few years of completion, a not overly uncommon occurrence for these instruments. The features in general are standard for a 1975 Custom: black finish multi-bound body and two gold-plated humbucking pickups.
The serial number is from the early 8-digit series started in 1975, but is impressed in the late 70's style instead of carried on a decal. The neck appears to be the 1977-79 style 3-piece maple laminate with ebony fingerboard and pearl block inlay. A good-playing and sounding 70's Black Beauty.
Overall length is 39 1/4 in. (99.7 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Generally Excellent Condition.
