Gibson L-48 Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar (1950), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, maple back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). An excellent gigging archtop; finish clean overall-body binding has shrunken somewhat and is heavily checked but not crumbling. Set up with a very good sounding modern bridge/pickup combination and correct repro Kluson tuners. A very good player with a big chunky neck, good sounding both acoustically and electrically with a good modern HSC. Overall Very Good + Condition.
