Item #3617

Gibson L-00 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1935, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back, sides and neck; spruce top, black tolex hard shell case.

A very well-preserved, nicely original early-mid 1930's Gibson smallbody flat top. Bound top with very small sunburst area and intense firestripe pattern celluloid pickguard, unbound back. Unbound fingerboard with simple pearl dot inlay and ebony nut; the neck has a deep "V" profile and narrow heel. The original tuners are stamped unplated brass strips with white celluloid buttons. The headstock is adorned with a white screened Gibson logo. This is a very lightly built and extremely responsive guitar, a favorite for many playing styles and a Depression-era gem.

Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 14 7/8 in. (37.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.).

A very nicely original guitar, with light average play wear. Two small repaired back cracks; top is in beautiful condition. One of the nicest of this model we have seen in a very long time. Excellent Condition.
