Item #6174
Gibson J-50 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1955), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # X-8414-22, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 5/16 in. (41.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 11/16 in. (627 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A very nice, all original guitar. There is considerable finish wear to back of neck, down to the wood, and some old finish wear around sound hole-looks like someone with some rather corrosive hands played this one a lot. The rest of the guitar does not show much wear. This is a sweet sounding well balanced instrument, an excellent player with a great vibe. Overall Very Good + Condition.
