Gibson J-50 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1954), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # X-7540-7, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body and neck, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 16 1/2 in. (41.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 5 in. (12.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). A very nice playing and sounding J-50, very sharp looking despite several long, neatly repaired spruce grain cracks on the top and a light overspray. The rest of the guitar is quite clean with some small dings, chips etc. and one deep scratch to the back near the edge. All original fittings except replaced tuner buttons and an added strap button to the heel, a very nice sounding Gibson Jumbo with a deep, mellow tone. This guitar is fitted with an L.R. Baggs Lyric pickup system and also is an excellent stage instrument. Generally Excellent - Condition.
