Item #5871
Gibson J-45 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1950), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 16 1/16 in. (40.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
A truly superb and spectacular sounding J-45 from the dawn of the 1950's; super light and responsive with a slimmer neck than many from this period. Nicely original-one long cleated back crack, a small amount of touch-up around the south edge of the soundhole and tuners re-buttoned but overall a very well preserved guitar. One of the nicest Gibson Jumbos we have had recently, a wonderful and super friendly guitar. Overall Excellent Condition.
