Item #7820
Gibson J-45 ADJ. Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 385135, cherry sunburst top, natural mahogany back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.
Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 5 in. (12.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).
This '60s J-45 is relatively clean and remains all original (even down to the bridgepins) with just some dings and dents. There are no repairs or alterations and the cherry sunburst finish is still bright and unfaded. There is some typical finish checking mostly to the top and a few minor divots to the fingerboard in the first position. A fine-playing example from this period, with the very slim neck typical of this year. A very good strummer's recording or gigging guitar with a nicely defined rhythm tone, complete with the original chipboard case. Excellent - Condition.
