Gibson F-5L Model Carved Top Mandolin (1996), made in Bozeman, Montana, serial # 61222099, sunburst lacquer finish, flame maple back, sides and neck; spruce top, ebony fingerboard, original black hard shell case. A wonderful copy of Bobby Osborne's 1925 Fern.
Overall length is 27 1/2 in. (69.8 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) width, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.). Very clean overall; just a little finish wear on the sides of the neck near the nut and light wear overall. Nut and bridge replaced with correct style components; pearl truss rod cover engraved with the previous owners initials. There are a few small chips in the finish on the headstock face related to the replacement of these components. Original pickguard is included but was never mounted on the mandolin. A very good sounding and playing F-5. Overall Excellent + Condition.
