Gibson's "bread and butter" electric tenor guitar from the 1940's and 50's, the ETG-150 is an easy-playing and chunky sounding four-string archtop suitable for a range of styles. This is a nicely original 1958 example, with a single 4-pole P-90 pickup, Kluson Deluxe tuners and the amber "bonnet" knobs typical of the period. This model was made through the 1950's in fairly small numbers-less than 50 a year- and this remains a very good example of one of the nicer electric tenors out there.
Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 23 in. (584 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Very nice overall, this guitar remains clean and all original except for one odd repair-there is a filled hole in the headstock right through the top half of the Gibson logo. This may have been for an old tassel cord or hanger of some sort. The repair is solid but visible, a cosmetic issue only but just one of those oddball things we sometimes see on older instruments. The rest of the guitar is nice with only light play wear and an added strap button to the heel. A great player with plenty of punch even not plugged in, included a modern 6-string HSC. Overall Excellent - Condition.
