Item #5532

Gibson ES-335TD Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1967), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 120828, sparkling burgundy finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 3/4 in. (106 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). This is a very good player's 1960's 335, with some obvious issues but an excellent gigging guitar. There is an old serious headstock repair (solid but visible) with an added black "stinger" to the back of the neck. The guitar has been converted from a factory Bigsby to a stoptail, with the fade and original screw holes remaining in evidence. The rest of the original (very attractive) burgundy metallic finish is quite clean if somewhat faded. The pickups are older and somewhat of a mixed bag (1970's Gibson HB at the neck, heavily epoxy-potted gibson HB at the bribge) but sound great- all other parts appear original. There is some heavy corrosion to the plating on the tailpiece and some on the bridge from player's hand contact, the rest of the hardware is relatively clean. This has the slim neck common to the era, the frets have some wear and evidence of crowning but are still quite playable. Ready to go, not a collector's grade piece but a very cool and useable guitar at a considerably lower price than a pristene example. Overall Very Good + Condition.
