Item #3588
Gibson ES-330T Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1959), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown hard shell case.
A lovely all original example of a very early sunburst ES-330T. This guitar has all the earliest features, including bound dot rosewood fingerboard, rounder "Mickey Mouse" cutaway horns, black plastic pickup cover, and no strap button on the neck heel. The nickel-plated tune-o-matic bridge is the first "no-wire" pattern with nickel saddles. The single bound body is fully hollow with a deep rich sunburst, and the neck joins at the 16th fret. The tuners are single enclosed Kluson deluxe with plastic buttons. The P-90 pickup is mounted in the center position with 50's style amber plastic "bonnet" tone and volume knobs.
This ES-330T is one of the nicest-playing and sounding examples we have ever had. The single center pickup gives a smooth midrange-y tone, not as versatile as the twin pickup ES-330TD, but with a distinctive sound all its own. This is simply a great playing guitar, with the perfect 1959 neck. The original case has a plaque from "Parker Music Company, Walker at travis, Houston" mounted by the handle, so you know this 330 has been "Texas vibed"!
Overall length is 40 7/16 in. (102.7 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
Very fine overall, completely original including the ABR-1 bridge which is so often pirated off these instruments. Only a little play wear; some light chipping to headstock face edges and some tiny dings. Brown OHSC is solid with general wear and tear. Excellent + Condition.
