Item #7744
Gibson ES-175T Model Arch Top Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1976), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 00237920, sunburst finish, laminated maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.
Take the ES-175D and reduce the body depth by half? Sounds like a great idea, and that's just what Gibson did in the mid-1970's, resulting in this very attractive and playable thinline hollowbody guitar. Essentially a fancier version of the 1960's ES-125TD but with humbucking pickups, this guitar makes an excellent thinline jazz instrument that shades easily into vintage Rock'n'Roll or Americana stylings. Sadly Gibson only produced this well-thought out model from 1976-79, making it rather rare find today with only 339 sunburst examples ever produced.
Overall length is 41 1/4 in. (104.8 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Super clean, showing very little wear anywhere. All original except Groverized some time early on (that is, the original Kluson tuners were replaced with Grovers). A lovely playing and sounding guitar, one of Gibson's best 1970's ideas. Excellent + Condition.
