Item #6684

Gibson ES-125TDC Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1964), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark cherry stained back and sides finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). This is a rather clean guitar overall; the finish shows some light checking, scuffing and chips but no major loss. The headstock face has a few extra dings up by the top edge and the top back edge of the headstock is worn down a bit from a previous ill-fitting case experience. All hardware is original except for the tailpiece, which is the correct style but appears more recent.

The cherry lacquer in the top sunburst has faded into a lovely honey color, not unlike some of the (much more valuable!) sunburst Les Pauls from the 1960 period. The nut has been shimmed and the rosewood saddle on the bridge had been cut down a bit from below but the guitar is an excellent player, with a particularly rich and crunchy sounding P-90 in the neck position. A nice example and a very light and handy 1960's Gibson hollowbody, an excellent gigging guitar. Overall Excellent - Condition.
