Gibson Custom Shop B.B. King Lucille Legacy Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2022), made in Nashville, TN, serial # CS203797, transparent black lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.
Gibson's B.B. King Lucille Legacy is a modern Custom Shop continuation of King's distinctive signature model, based on the ES-355 he played for decades. The "Lucille Legacy" features the high-end appointments King preferred including gold hardware with a gold "B.B. King" engraved truss rod cover and "Lucille" is inlaid in mother of pearl inlay on the headstock, while the ebony fretboard features split block mother of pearl inlays.
The distinctive electronics include Gibson's "Custombucker" humbucking pickups wired to a mono Varitone switch, which King actually used. The rig also includes audio taper CTS pots and paper-in-oil Bumblebee capacitors. Another specific fitting is the '70s style TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece. The semi-hollowbody design of the 355 is retained but the f-holes are gone, as was King's personal preferences. The top, back, and sides are laminated figured maple which is subtly visible through a transparent ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish, giving a darkly classy look. While tailored to one "Kings" royal decree "Lucille" is a very distinctive guitar that is equally at home in any style, from basic blues to far beyond.
Overall length is 41 3/4 in. (106 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
This guirtar appears practically new, showing a few handling marks and that's about it. It is an excellent player and resides in the original HSC with the Gibson Custom shop paperwork included. Overall Excellent + Condition.
