Item #3065

Gibson BR-6 Model Tube Guitar Amplifier (1954), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, brown tolex covering finish.

Introduced in 1946, the BR-6 is a fairly long-lived amp for Gibson and a staple of the line for much of the 1950's. This is the second version of the amp, which was re-styled and beefed up in 1948 and lasted until 1956 when it was modernized into the GA-6.

This 1-10" speaker combo amp puts out 10-12 watts of warm Gibson tone that takes on a menacing edge when cranked! One brown chicken-head volume knob is the entire control array, with three inputs. Original 10" blue frame Jensen field-coil speaker is dated to mid-1954.

Classy looks, covered in the same brown tolex as contemporary Gibson cases, with a brown stenciled Gibson block-script logo on the upper corner and "G" metal plate pinned over the center of the speaker opening.

A great little amp and a wonderful play & display complement to any 1950's Gibson guitar.
