Fender TL 69-75 Paisley Telecaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1986), made in Japan, serial # A027409, pink paisley finish, hardwood body, maple neck, molded plastic hard shell case.

This is a fairly early and very well done Fender Japan re-issue of the infamous 1969 paisley Telecaster, built less than 20 years after the original. It has a hand dated mark 11-13-86 on the neck heel in pencil, just like original '50s Fenders do. The neck is made from nice maple with a profile just a bit flatter than the original '69 style but quite comfortable. The paisley finish is very accurately re-created but does not show the heavy checking and peeling common to the originals today. This version of the TL 69-75 was one of Fender Japan's best efforts in the 1980's and becoming recognized as a classic in its own right now 35 years along. This is a fairly light and handy Telecaster, and its timely/timeless paisley livery remains unmistakable, as always James Burton and Elvis approved.

Overall length is 38 3/4 in. (98.4 cm.), 12 1/2 in. (31.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

This guitar shows some fairly minor signs of use but is overall nicely preserved, considering is now 35 years old. There is light wear including some dings, dents and chips into and in a few cases through the finish, with a couple of deeper dings to the edges. The metal has some minor corrosion, mostly just on the bridgeplate. It has just been neatly refretted with the appropriate wire and so plays very well with the classic Tele twang in spades. It includes a period 1980s molded plastic Fender USA HSC. Overall Excellent - Condition.
