Fender Telecaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Fullerton, California, blond nitro re- finish, ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, black hard shell case.
Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 12 1/2 in. (31.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). This guitar has a very well-done professional body-only refinish (which shows off the ash grain nicely) otherwise it remains a very original instrument. The neck finish and decal are unaltered, the bridge pickup is fully original and the neck pickup appears to have been wax potted more recently. All the original hardware is included, including tuners, pickguard and knobs. Currently the guitar is currently fitted out with a modern control rig with standard switching-the complete original rig (pots, switch, wire and jack) is also included, still mounted to the original plate and wired to the original pre-'67 spec (bass capacitor-in-front-position, no pickup blend). The frets are original, but show some crowning and in a couple of cases re-seating work in the past. A really fine player's mid-'60's Telecaster, an excellent player priced significantly lower than an all-original example. Includes a nice original HSC with a very 1970's stenciled message/band name.
