Item #2832

Fender Telecaster Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar, c. 1969, made in Fullerton, California, blonde finish, Ash body, maple neck, black tolex hard shell case.

An all-original example of Fender's first 'reissue' instrument, the Telecaster bass. Fender had received many requests for the early pattern Precision basses, especially from England, by 1968, and complied by introducing this near-replica.

Except for the white pickguard and two-screw thumbrest, this bass is very close to the original 1952 Precisions in both looks and sound. This one has both chrome covers and the original pickup intact which is often rewound or replaced, as the relatively unprotected coil is prone to failure when the cover is removed.

This is a great stage or studio bass and still a good value in a vintage Fender.

Overall length is 46 in. (116.8 cm.), 12 7/8 in. (32.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.).

All original, with some normal play wear but no modifications or repairs. Some armwear on the upper bout; finish dings and a removed sticker near the controls.

Sounds and plays extremely well. Excellent Condition.
