Item #7337

Fender Stratocaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1958), made in Fullerton, California, three tone sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck, original tweed hard shell case.

This late '58 Stratocaster sports a beautiful, deep, and vibrant 3-color sunburst with hardly any fade on the body (dated 11-58) and great feeling round-backed neck dated to the same month. The pot dates run to the 39th week of '58 as well. There is flaking to the finish, but this completely original and unmodified guitar has never suffered the indignities that many Fenders went through in the '60s and '70s, and remains as Leo intended. Simply a wonderful, magical feeling 7 lb. 9 oz. guitar and a great reminder why we fell in love with the Stratocaster in the first place!

Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 12 1/2 in. (31.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

Superbly original, this lovely late '58 Strat shows a decent finish flaking (likely from exposure to moisture while in the case) on the edges but not a lot of play wear overall. The fingerboard has some typical wear and the bridge saddles are somewhat corroded; otherwise, the guitar does not show a whole lot of play time. The trem cover has one tiny crack on the corner, but there is no other hardware damage. Under the pickguard rest perfect, untouched pickups and wiring, with a truly great sound everywhere you set the switch. Includes the original tweed case. Excellent - Condition.
