This great-sounding Princeton reverb is a late-production "Blackface" example, assembled not long before the CBS team started putting their fingers into "improving" Leo's classic designs. It retains the mid-60's look and superb sound that have made this model the "Amp of choice" for recording for decades, and more recently as a gigging unit in lower-volume times. This amp has lost its serial number due to a long-ago chassis modification on the far right end which is now covered by a round metal plate. The tube chart is worn enough that the date code is no longer legible. The stamped code on the original Jensen "Special design" speaker is 220-740 which dates to late 1967, visible pot dates are to the 14-15th weeks of 1966 and the smaller transformers are coded to mid-1967.
Externally this amp remains relatively clean showing typical minor wear with scuffing to the Tolex, some corrosion to the chassis straps and a couple of small dinks to the grill cloth. Internally it has had a thorough maintenance including a full recap, cleaning of all jacks, sockets and pots and a re-bias to spec. A new reverb tank and cables have been added, and the reverb response is quite lush. The speaker cable is a newer heavy-duty replacement. Not in perfect collector condition but a fine gigging example of this small but potent combo, sounding great and just worn enough to still throw in the trunk (or Boot, if you are English).
