Item #7360

Fender Precision Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1974), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 538142, sunburst polyester finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, molded black plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 46 in. (116.8 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Well-we can say this for sure-someone PLAYED this bass! The finish shows what is now termed "heavy relic" status-and this is the hard wearing '70's Fender Poly we're talking about here. The patina is epically smoked and darkened, especially on the lacquer-overcoated headstock. The body shows wear everywhere and the areas of arm and belt buckle wear are practically art pieces in and of themselves. The pickguard is an old WD replacement (with a tiny crack at the jack)` but the pickup and pots (all dated to 1974) are original, as is everything else but the jack. At just over 8 lbs. this is one of the lightest and handiest 1970's Precisions we have ever had, and it is a super comfortable and great sounding bass with tons of growl. Beat to hell, cool as heck, a real survivor of who knows what Rock/Punk/Blues brutality and ready to power on into the next century. Includes a lightweight molded HSC. Overall Very Good + Condition.
