Item #2815

Fender Precision Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1958), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck, brown tolex hard shell case.

A very fine example of what many players and collectors hold to be the finest electric bass ever made.

These classic late-1950's Fender Precisions with the gold anodized pickguard, sunburst finish, and maple neck have been sought after since the earliest beginnings of electric guitar collecting as the most desirable of Fender basses and certainly the apex of Precision bass design.

We are extremely pleased to have this fine all-original 1958 Precision in stock. It is lightweight, extremely resonant and simply one of the nicest-playing and sounding bass guitars it is possible to imagine.

Overall length is 46 in. (116.8 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.).

Excellent and all original with lacquer checking overall and some belt buckling to the back finish. A very well-preserved example with some normal play wear but no repairs or alterations.

Includes an early-1960's Fender brown tolex case.
