Item #6439
Fender Jazzmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.
This is a super nice example of an "Early CBS" Fender Jazzmaster dated to March 1966, built just over a year after Leo's company had been sold into corporate slavery! Typical period appointments include the very "tight" sunburst finish with little color blending, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlay, tortoise plastic (not nitro) laminated pickguard and serial number plate with the new large "F" logo. This very good-sounding and playing Jazzmaster, showing far less use than most.
Overall length is 41 1/16 in. (104.3 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). A superb, super clean example; all original (except possibly the vibrato arm) and unaltered with only very minor wear. There is one noticeable ding in the top (dang!) otherwise the entire finish is in bright, unfaded and only lightly checked condition. There is some scuffing into the lacquer into the back, but no buckle wear deep into or through the finish. A wonderful Early-CBS Jazzmaster-they just don't show up in this king of condition so much anymore! Includes an original HSC showing somewhat more wear than the guitar but still fully functional. Excellent Condition.
