Item #3559
Fender Jazzmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Fullerton, California, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
This is a nice example of an 'early CBS' Fender Jazzmaster, built less than two years after Leo's company had been sold into corporate slavery! Typical 1966 appointments include the very 'tight' sunburst finish with a greenish color cast and little color blending, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlay, tortoise plastic (not nitro) laminated pickguard, and serial number plate with the large "F" logo. This good-sounding Jazzmaster priced far lower than a pre-CBS example.
Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).
All original except knobs and vibrato arm with average playing wear, most noticeably a large spot of armwear to the top and numerous small dings and chips. Very Good + Condition.
